When I was 7 yrs. old, we studied Brazilian exports in Geography class, and the teacher asked “what are Brazil’s exports?” I raised my hand and hollered, Carmen Miranda! The teacher scowled and said, “really Sylvia!”
What did the old bat know anyway…why I was an authority on the subject, after all I saw all her movies, read hundred’s of movie magazines under the covers with a flash light, and collected her paper dolls! I was her number one fan and called her fondly, “Carmen Banana!”
